There are a few really neat features that you can use on the Internet to view Ottawa real estate properties as they appear on the street and in the neighborhood. Sometimes you’ll be able to use Google maps to see a picture of the condo and the other condos in the neighborhood and other times you may have to use Google Earth to see it.
Google maps
If you type in “Google Maps” in your search engine, you’ll be brought to the Google Maps application. You’ll need to type in the address of the Ottawa real estate property that you want to view and click enter. Be sure to enter “Ottawa” after the street address so that you can see the right condo in the right city.
At this point you’ll be viewing a map on the right-hand side of the page. There will be a red circle or a balloon showing the exact location of the address you have typed in. When you click on this balloon or circle, you may have access to the street view. You will know if you have access to this if a pop-up comes up and you see a picture of the street with the words “Street view” underneath. You simply need to click on this picture to see the street, the condos nearby and the property you are looking for.
You may have to play with the functions a bit to find the exact condo you’re looking for. You can use a zoom feature and move the camera to the right or the left to see the street and the condos on it. You’ll have a great time manipulating the features when you are there and it will give you a much better idea of the entire property.
Google Earth
If you want to see satellite shots of the Ottawa real estate property you’ll have to download the Google Earth software. This is an application that allows you to see satellite shots of any area on earth. It is a safe program to download and is completely free. Thousands of people have installed this program on their computer with no problems at all.
If you can’t see a street view on Google maps, this does not mean that you won’t see satellite photos using Google Earth. If the Ottawa real estate property that you are searching for is in a very remote area, however, you may not be able to access it by either application and will have to take a drive out to see the property on your own.
New technology makes it easier for both real estate clients and their agents to get a better idea of the Ottawa housing market without leaving their condo or office. It cuts down the amount of time that needs to be spent traveling from one condo to another to view its location since the options can be narrowed down considerably using a computer.
